Who am I and what have I been doing?

• Research associate for technology and teacher education at the Center for School Improvement at the University of Chicago
• Trained in Philosophy of Curriculum (Ph.D. 1994 University of Chicago)
• Expert on John Dewey's metaphysics and theory of inquiry; history of character education in America
• Served four years as assistant professor of educational foundations at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago
• In 1997, became involved in the Chicago Public Schools/University of Chicago Internet Project (CUIP)
• In 1999, became director of curriculum for CUIP and directed the Chicago WebDocent project
• In 2001, received academic appointment at Center for School Improvement
• Since 1999, director of the Web Institute for Teachers at the University
• Author of 2003 book, Curriculum Webs: A Practical Guide to Weaving the Web into Teaching and Learning with Marty Billingsley (Allyn and Bacon)
