Write a 4-6 page reflective paper analyzing the current status of dgital
technology availability in your classroom or other instructional setting.
Include specific information about:
- numbers and types of computers in your classroom or available to you
in a computer lab or training center
- limitations or requirements for scheduling use of a computer lab or
training center, including any procedures necessary to be followed before
scheduling
- the type of network (wireless/wired) and its speed
- the type of Internet link (modem, DSL, T-1) and speed, as well as
the total number of computers sharing that link
- productivity and instructional software available to you in either
classroom or other setting, including versions, number of copies, whether
currently installed, how to get installed
- availability and type of email for you and your students
- availability and type of synchronous communication systems available
to you and your students
- peripherals available to you in your classroom or other setting (printers,
scanners, cameras, microphones, projectors, probes
- the amount and type of technical support and assistance available
to you, including whether a technology coordinator in your building
or district is available to help you with instruction and/or hands-on
support during use of technology by your students
- online or database/cd-rom resources available to you and your students
that are not publicly available (these may require a fee that has been
paid by you school or district)
- current technology skills of yourself and your students
- the distribution of administrative privileges in your building and
how this affects your ability to make spontaneous changes to setups
or installations
