Copyright and Fair Use

The assignment is to create a "hypermedia" POWERPOINT presentation to instruct a particular audience in the details of copyright and fair use.

The activity has two purposes: first, to review copyright and fair use content; second, to begin to understand the steps involved in instructional design (see also Gagne's nine steps of instruction).

Some additional resources about copyright are listed at the bottom of this page.

We will divide into TWO groups. The groups will work separately and then will combine to see and critique each other's work.

Schedule:

4:30 - 5 pm discuss assignment in large group:

What are basics of copyright and fair use? What should be the major learning objectives? Should they differ? What is different about the two audiences in terms of most appropriate instructional approach? What can we do in PowerPoint?

5 - 5:30 pm small groups discuss how to approach assignment and plan work
